The 12th annual Record Store Day Event takes place on the 13th April and we have announced our releases which are:
First up we have two new Doctor Who adventures with Galaxy 4 starring William Hartnell as The Doctor and Destiny of the Daleks starring Tom Baker as The Doctor. Both releases are presented on 2 x 180g pieces of splatter vinyl and are limited to just 2500 copies.
Next we’re taking you on a journey through time and space to the world of the Mighty Boosh! For the first time ever on vinyl, this is the classic BBC Radio 4 comedy! Presented on 3 pieces of coloured 180g vinyl, it also includes brand new artwork by Noel Fielding & Dave Brown and features sleeve notes by Julian Barrett. Limited to just 1500 copies.
Now we’re back in Royston Vasey for The League Of Gentlemen ‘Live Again’! This 2018 recording of the BAFTA Award winning show sees comedy legends Reece Shearsmith, Steve Pemberton, Mark Gatiss and Jeremy Dyson bringing their uniquely dark and unhinged fictional village of Royston Vasey to the Hammersmith Apollo. Pressed on 2 x 180G heavyweight Lazarou coloured vinyl, and presented in an incredible pop up gatefold sleeve featuring key characters Pauline and Mickey. Limited to 1250 copies
Acclaimed BBC Radio 6 Music radio DJ, Steve Lamacq celebrates 25 years of broadcasting at the BBC with this unique double LP release of 27 curated tracks. 2LPs pressed on white vinyl, and housed in a gatefold sleeve with two inner printed bags and limited to 2000 copies!
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Simple Mind‘s Graffiti Soul is this re-creation of the limited edition gatefold 2LP set issued in 2009 – the original album, plus a bonus LP of nine cover versions recorded at the same sessions. Presented as a 2LP Gatefold, with yellow and blue 180g vinyl and limited to 2000 copies.
Also celebrating a 20th anniversary is Suede‘s ‘Head Music’. This 3LP edition includes an extra third LP which features ten non-album b-sides and issued in this format for the first time! Pressed on 180g heavyweight coloured vinyl and limited to 2500 copies.
Bigger Than America’ by Heaven 17 was originally released in 1996, some eight years after the band’s last album on the Virgin label and this is the first time that this album has been issued on vinyl. This release uses the entirety of Ray Smith’s original cover painting, and the inner sleeve features a previously unused painting. Pressed on 180g translucent orange vinyl and limited to 1500 copies!
A very special 7″ picture disc from Chas & Dave to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the classic Only Fools and Horses episode, ‘The Jolly Boys’ Outing’ and includes a previously unreleased version of Margate from the episode. Limited to just 1000 copies.
Ian Gillan 40th anniversary of Mr. Universe, the second album and the first issued in the UK. This release includes split-coloured (blue and red) 180g heavyweight vinyl and is limited to just 1250 copies.
From Marc Bolan & T.Rex comes Bump N Grind, a collection of working demos and master versions of some of T. Rex’s biggest hits, including “Telegram Sam”, “20th Century Boy”, “Metal Guru” and “Solid Gold Easy Action”. Mastered from the original tapes, and pressed on 180g heavyweight blue vinyl and limited to 2000 copies.
A 40th anniversary edition of the debut album, ‘Another Kind Of Blues’ by Punk Legends UK SUBS. Originally issued in 1979 and now issued as a deluxe double 10”, in two different shades of blue vinyl. Limited to 1500 copies.
A re-imagining of Toyah’s 2008 album release, I’n The Court Of The Crimson Queen’. Toyah and producer/co-writer Simon Darlow have remixed and added instrumentation to all the songs. These mixes appear for the first time on vinyl, and this release will also have completely new artwork. Pressed on Translucent Purple 180g vinyl and limited to 1500 copies.
Exclusive to #RSD19 is the 2011 album, ‘Quid Pro Quo’ which debuted at number 10 in the UK charts from Status Quo. This exclusive and unique release includes pop-up gatefold artwork, and 180g heavyweight blue coloured vinyl and is limited to just 1000 copies!
