Record Store Day 2021

Demon Records is to release an eclectic collection of records as part of 2021’s Record Store Day.

The releases will be only be available at independent record shops on Record Store Day on Saturday 12th June. This year’s line-up includes releases from 90s Britpop bands, Suede, Ocean Colour Scene, The Bluetones & Menswear Marc Bolan plus releases from T.Rex, The Creation and Doctor Who, all issued on vinyl for the first time.Marc Bolan & T. This special LP is the first time this material has been issued on vinyl

Suede: Love & Poison (Limited to 3500 copies worldwide)

  • Issued on vinyl for the first time
  • Pressed on 2 x 180g clear vinyl  
  • The soundtrack to the band’s first concert video, recorded at Brixton Academy on 16th May 1993, only a month after the release of their Mercury Prize-winning debut album
  • Includes stunning versions of nine tracks from the album, including the singles “Animal Nitrate”, “Metal Mickey”, “The Drowners” and “So Young”, as well as four B-sides


The Creation: In Stereo (Limited to 2750 copies worldwide)

  • Issued on vinyl for the first time
  • Pressed on 2 x 180g clear vinyl & presented in gatefold sleeve
  • Influential 60s band, and compiled on vinyl for the first time, this 2LP features all nineteen new stereo mixes created by Alec Palao in 2016
  • Including “Biff Bang Pow”, “Painter Man” and both versions of “How Does It Feel To Feel”
  • The gatefold sleeve features specially-commissioned artwork by Phil Smee


The Vines: Melodia (Limited to 1500
copies worldwide)

  • Issued on vinyl for the first time
  • Pressed on 2 x 180g translucent lime Vinyl
  • ‘Melodia’ is the 4th studio album by Australian rockers The Vines previously signed to Heavenly Records
  • Includes the singles ‘Get Out’, ‘MerryGoRound’, and ‘He’s A Rocker’


Doctor Who: Dalek Terror! (Limited to 1500 copies worldwide)

  • Issued on vinyl for the first time
  • Pressed on stunning 2 x 140g “Extermination Splatter” vinyl & presented in a gatefold sleeve with retro-style illustrations
  • Four stories of galactic terror and global invasion, taken from Terry Nation’s Dalek Annuals of the 1970s
  • The Daleks have been Doctor Who’s No.1 enemy since 1963, recognised globally as one of the most iconic sci-fi aliens
  • These stories have nostalgic appeal for the children of the 1970s


Menswear: Extra Material (Limited to 1000 copies worldwide)

  • Issued on double vinyl for the first time
  • Pressed on 180g White & Orange Vinyl
  • Includes demos, singles, B-sides, rarities and live tracks that have never appeared on vinyl before
  • Menswear are an iconic Britpop act from Camden, North London. Releasing a string of classic top 40 singles from the mid 90s

Ocean Colour Scene: Saturday (Limited to 2500 copies worldwide)

  • Issued on vinyl for the first time
  • Pressed on 2 x 180g neon green vinyl with original artwork & printed inner sleeve
  • Iconic 90s Britpop / Mod revival band
  • Lead guitarist Steve Craddock a member of Paul Weller’s band
  • Include hit singles ‘Saturday’ and ‘Magic Carpet Days’


The Bluetones: A New Athens (Limited to 1600 copies worldwide)

  • Issued on vinyl for the first time
  • Pressed on 180g blue Vinyl
  • ‘A New Athens’ is somewhat of a lost album, self-released on CD in 2010 and long deleted 
  • The Bluetones are a Britpop act from South West London. Releasing a string of classic top 40 singles and number 1 albums in the UK in the mid 90s
  • Featuring the singles “Golden Soul” and “Carry Me Home” and issued on the band’s own label, this album contains their last studio recordings to date


Toyah: Mesmerised – Rarities & Remixes ’85-‘94 (Limited to 1000 copies worldwide)

  • On vinyl for the first time
  • Pressed on stunning 180g vanilla coloured Vinyl
  • Side 1 starts with Toyah’s collaboration with Tony Banks of Genesis, then features the Mike Hedges (U2, Siouxsie & the Banshees, The Cure) produced ‘Desire’ album’s B-sides and an outtake plus the Surf Mix of “Echo Beach”
  • Side 2 features Phil Nicholas-produced rarities and remixes, all on vinyl for the very first time, including the “Weybridge Mix” of “It’s A Mystery”.


Black Francis: Abbabubba (Limited to 3500 copies worldwide)

  • Issued on vinyl for the first time
  • Pressed on stunning 2 x 180g black & white split colour vinyl
  • A collection of remixes, reworkings and B-sides from legendary Pixies’ frontman Black Francis
  • Highlights include the Bloc Party remix of ‘The Seus’, plus rarities ‘II Cuchaiao’ and ‘The Water’ which were previously exclusive to Francis’ website


Echo & The Bunnymen: Live In Liverpool (Limited to 5750 copies worldwide)

  • Issued on vinyl for the first time
  • Pressed on 2 x 180g clear vinyl
  • 2002 live album from classic 1980’s alternative rock group Echo & The Bunnymen
  • Recorded in 2001 at Paul McCartney Institute of Performing Arts, ‘Live In Liverpool’ features electrifying performances of classics including ‘The Killing Moon’, ‘Lips Like Sugar’ and ‘The Cutter’


Bernard Butler: People Move On (Limited to 1500 copies UK & Eire)

  • Re-issued for the first time since its original release
  • Pressed on 2 x 180g clear vinyl
  • The ex-Suede guitarist’s first solo album, released on the Creation Records label in 1998 The album reached #11 in the UK album charts and features the hit singles “Stay”, “Not Alone” and “Change Of Heart”.
