About this release

Edsel Records are pleased to present deluxe and remastered, 2CD+DVD editions of the four original albums from 90’s Merseyside four piece, Cast. Undoubtedly the definitive editions of the band’s catalogue, each release will come with original artwork, high-quality new packaging, exclusive bonus audio, extra tracks plus new sleeve notes. Labelled ‘The Who of the 90’s’, Noel Gallagher once described watching Cast play live as “a religious experience.”

Formed in 1992 from the ashes of two of the most lauded guitar bands of recent times – The La’s and Shack, Cast released four albums between 1995 and 2001.Power began writing in early 2000 for the follow-up, , released July 2001. Although initially set to work again with Leckie, Power ended up working with producer and programmer Tristin Norwell. The album was based largely on loops and featured heavy use of horns and flutes and deliberately moved away from the bands guitar sound. It includes the single Desert Drought (#45).

This CD + DVD Deluxe edition includes outtakes, demos and radio sessions plus a DVD with an exclusive interview with John Power talking about Cast and the making of Beetroot.
