About this release

A House were one of the most underrated of bands to emerge from the Irish indie circuit in the late eighties and early nineties. Fronted by singer-songwriter Dave Couse, the band were a popular addition to a concert bill, and specialised in frenetic, guitar-led tunes with acerbic, witty and articulate lyricism. A favourite of Radio 1 deejay John Peel, the band never got the commercial due that their often scarily intense music deserved. The band enjoyed recording stints with the Blanco Y Negro and Setanta record labels without being able to deliver the commercial sucker punch that would have pushed them to the kind of recognition Couse’s songs deserved. This concert captures the band in their idiosyncratic glory.
