man’s three solo albums, expanded to include all the non-album a- and b-sides,
remixes and live tracks, the lyrics and notes by Terry Staunton, in a slipcased
McCulloch’s second solo album “Mysterio” was issued in March 1992,
three years after his first. Three producers are credited: Mark Saunders
(Erasure and The Cure), Henry Priestman, formerly of The Christians, and the
Cocteau Twins’ Robin Guthrie (who is joined by Elizabeth Frazer
and Roddy Frame on “Heaven’s Gate”).
release features eighteen bonus tracks, including all the non-album
tracks from the associated singles and a further six rarities. “Return To
Sender” was originally issued on the NME cassette “The Last Temptation Of
Elvis”, “History Chimes”, “Honey Drip” [early version], and “On One”
are all previously unreleased, while the closing two songs were originally
released on the tribute album “I’m Your Fan: The Songs Of Leonard Cohen”
and its companion sampler in 1991.
