This 3CD set explores the different types of samba CD1 features classic samba from legends of samba such as Joyce, the Ipanemas & Nelson Sargento plus tracks from the stars of the contemporary scene such as Teresa Cristina, Nelson Sargento & Mariene de Castro.
In the 1960s and 70s Brazilian musicians fused samba with funk and soul and CD2 features tracks from current artists influenced by this scene such as Bossacucanova, Ronei Jorge e Os Ladroes de Bicicleta & Marcelo D2.
CD3 reflects the contemporary Samba scene now in all its many guises. With tracks from Ceu, Beto Villares, Cibelle & Sonantes amongst many others this CD is all about the fusion of samba with other genres: electro-samba, dub-samba & samba-novo.
