This year is the 25th Anniversary of NYC's legendary Soulful house/garage/disco label ‘Easy Street Records’ and this is celebrated by an all-rights, exclusive European deal with Demon Music Group. This newly compiled ‘Digital Only’ album is the first installment to introduce a selection of dancefloorclub hits along with a fine range of deeper underground cuts. This is the first time these tracks have been available digitally.
Not long after the label’s launch in 1983, Easy Street started to make its presence known around the world. "Go DehYaka"by Monyaka& Hot Streak’s "Body Work"became international pop hits in the summer of ’83 & later that year, "Body Work" (produced by "Jellybean" Benitez) appeared on the soundtrack to the movie "Breakin’"which sold over 2 million copies.
These initial successes were followed in 1984 by Serious Intention’sclub classic, "You Don’t Know", produced by Paul Simpson, & Jocelyn Brown’s "Pickin’ Up Promises", (which has just been remixed by the trio of BenjiCandelario, Danny "Buddha" Morales & Eddie Flashin’ Fowlkes). The Easy Streetsound began to take shape with releases from Shot/"Main Thing" (recently recorded by Sweden’s pop star Robyn), Paul Simpson’s "Treat Her Sweeter"& culminating with "Ma FoomBey" by Cultural Vibe(Tony Humphries & Winston Jones)which arguably launched the era of "House" music. Collaborating with talented producers and artists, the Easy Street sound became synonymous with great songs & powerful vocals, a framework that the label still follows today.
Adeva’s"In & Out of My Life" became an instant club hits, and achieved platinum sales on Adeva’s Chrysalis album!
In the 90’s House jams by Extortion, Cassio, Alexander Hope, Keisha Jenkins, Kathy Brown all left their imprint on the dance floor & at radio.
This Digital Only is a mustf or all house music/ early garage/ disco fans alike.Featuring an Exclusive track for iTunes onlyfeatured on the album: Adeva's: "In & Out Of My Life" (S-Man Remix).
