September 16th 2007 marks the 30th anniversary of Mark Bolan's untimely death. To commemorate Marc’s life and music Demon Digital is proud to re-issue three of his biggest hits, with previously unavailable tracks on each bundle package, issued on consecutive Mondays.
The first to be released will be the number one hit from 1972 Metal Guru available September17th. Children Of The Revolution, another number one hit, becomes available September 24th. Finally, 1973’s 20th Century Boy comes out on October 1st. The singles all feature original artwork.
A variety of downloadable bundles containing bonus tracks are available, giving fans a chance to collect a range of formats and songs. The singles are all scheduled to go on sale at different dates. With a revival in vinyl this year Demon will also re-issue the three classics as collectible and limited edition 7” inches.
The success and continuing impact of T. Rex as a rock visionary is undeniable. At the height of their success the band reportedly sold up to 100,000 records per day. Over the years the music of T. Rex has been used in countless TV adverts and movies, including Billy Elliot, The Truman Show and Velvet Goldmine. Today, many recording artists, including Goldfrapp and Franz Ferdinand continue to draw inspiration from the infectious, distinctive revolutionary sound of T. Rex.
