The Edsel label is proud to present its re-issue programme of expanded editions of all three albums by early 80s Scottish pop combo Altered Images. Fronted by the ever-popular Clare Grogan, the band were originally championed by John Peel.
This debut album from 1981 was produced by Steven Severin (of Siouxsie and The Banshees), although the breakthrough Number 2 single ‘Happy Birthday’ was produced by Martin Rushent (Buzzcocks, Stranglers, Human League, Generation X, The Go-Gos).
This special edition features six bonus tracks (nearly all of them appear on CD for the first time): a non-album A-side, three B-sides, a 12" mix of the title track and an idiosyncratic cover of T. Rex’s "Jeepster".
The packaging includes rare photos as well as the distinctive early 7" picture sleeves, along with annotation drawn from an interview with Clare Grogan, star of the recent ‘Here And Now’ 80s Revival tour.
